Fall is my favorite season! The changing leaves, cooler weather and outdoor activities always excite me. From fresh produce to festivals to sweaters and booties, there is so much to enjoy in the new season.

Now, as you know, I’m a fan of lists. And while I already have a pretty extensive bucket list for the next year, I decided it would be fun to write down some fall activities that I want to do during the autumn months.

I’ve noticed a lot of fun pictures on Instagram of pumpkins and apple pies and fall foliage that have me excited to dive into a list of seasonal activities.  Some of these are already checked off because I made the list in my head a while ago, but I decided it would be fun to write them down to share with the blogosphere.

If you have a fall bucket list, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. You may have some ideas that I missed!

Without further ado, here is my 2017 Fall Bucket List:

  1. Go apple picking. I love the idea of going to a farm and picking your own produce. Something about walking around the orchard, filling up buckets and sneaking a sample while you work always feels so much better than just going to the grocery store.
  2. Make an apple pie. Cody and I have been talking about baking an apple pie together for quite some time. We checked #1 off the list this weekend, so next step is to bake a delicious pie.
  3. Decorate my front porch with pumpkins and mums. I love to see the neighborhood decorated with fresh fall flowers and pumpkins. The bright colors and festive theme make driving around town so much more enjoyable. And if I can keep some mums alive, I think I’m making some gains on my 30 before 30 list.
  4. Host a Halloween party. Even as adults, everyone seems to love dressing up and gathering for some fun and games. I want to go all out with my menu and decor this year, so I’ll keep you posted on how that goes.
  5. Read Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. This is a classic tale that seems apropos for the holiday. I’ve already started the book and it is seductively creepy and intense.
  6. Watch Hocus Pocus. This is a Halloween-time tradition for me. I don’t like scary movies, but this family classic is just ghoulish enough. Who doesn’t love the 90s classic set in Salem?!
  7. Visit Salem. Speaking of Salem… I’m planning a trip with Cody and friends to visit this historic town around Halloween! I’m so excited to see both the history and lore of this old city.
  8. Go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This one got checked off early because we went in the beginning of September when we were in Disney. But I thought it was still necessary to put it on the list because it was very fall!
  9. Attend a fall festival. There are lots of street fairs, craft shows and food festivals this time of year. I love big outdoor festivals where you can sample local foods and buy handmade goods.
  10. Make a fall craft. I love crafting and want to make something for my home. I already have a handmade wreath, so I will need to think of something new. More to come on this one!
  11. Enjoy the company of family and friends. This one happens all year round, but I thought it was important to remember that it’s not what you do or what you have, but who you share the journey with.

So there it is. A short list of autumn activities that will fill up the coming months. What is on your fall bucket list? I’d love to read more ideas in the comments below.
