Post No. 2. I’m feeling pretty accomplished. Like I said before, starting a blog has been on my to-do list for quite some time. It took me realizing that I’m already in my late-twenties to actually get my fingers typing.
If you haven’t read my list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30 (I have just under two years before that milestone), please head over to my first post so you can follow my journey from the beginning. In case you missed it, my first goal was to start a blog. Tah-dah!
So I wanted to take a few minutes to share my thoughts with you about blogging. If you’re reading this, you may have an interest in blogging. For those of you who are fellow bloggers, thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ll leave me a comment so I can check out what you’re writing about. If you aren’t a blogger, but have thought about it before, I encourage you to start. There’s no better time than now! Whether you just want to jot down some thoughts or you have a cool hobby that you want to share with the world, blogging is a great way to get yourself out there.
Now, in starting this blog, I did a lot of research first. I’m kind of a nerd like that. Maybe it was my liberal arts education or my undying thirst for knowledge, but I like to dive in with full force. There were a lot of what-ifs in starting this thing. But at the end of the day, it was super easy and if I dare say so soon, totally worth it.
I didn’t mention this in my first post, but I’ve started a blog before. It didn’t go very far because I was focused on travel and fashion, and well, I wasn’t very good at either of those things. It’s not to say I wasn’t passionate about those topics, but it’s pretty hard to write about travel when I barely leave my state, and my closet isn’t necessarily runway-ready. Needless to say, I couldn’t sustain a blog on a topic that I had little write about. I’ve also had some experience with blogging at several of my jobs, including my current position. And while I love the experience for my career, it’s hardly passing for personal fulfillment.
And so we are here. It might be obvious from my list that my interests are fairly varied. From writing to fitness to reading to travel to cooking to home improvements and several things in between, I want to cover a plethora of topics. As I move through my list, I’m sure new opportunities will present themselves as well. I say this as fair warning for anyone who has made it this far. I thank you for reading my first few posts and I hope you will continue to follow me in this journey, however far and wide it takes me.
Whether you’re a fellow blogger, internet troll or family/friend who I begged to read my posts, please drop a comment below to say hi. This is only the beginning… much more to come!
