Inspiration for the Work Week
The daily grind of nine to five can motivate and inspire you or it can burn you out. And sometimes a little bit of both.
The deeper I get into my career, the more I realize that taking time to organize your thoughts, ideas and goals can really set you up for success.
That’s why I like to take about five to ten minutes each morning to right down my top goals for the day. I also like to note some things I’m feeling – things I’m grateful for and things I’m letting go of.
And my favorite part of the exercise is to write down a quote for the day. Something inspiring and motivating that will kick off my day. Most of them are short and sweet – just enough to provoke the thoughts that will push me toward those goals.
I like to keep a journal with these at my desk so that I can also go back and reread previous entries. How was I feeling last week? Did I accomplish my top three from yesterday? What was that quote that got me through last Wednesday?
It’s so nice to be able to look back and reflect on what’s been accomplished and how I got through previous weeks to today.
As I was going through the book recently, I was ignited again with inspiration from all the quotes I’ve collected so far in 2019. There were really some gems that kicked me in to gear these past three months.
So, I thought, what better way to pay it forward then to share some of these drops of wisdom with you, my readers?
I hope these will give you some of that same mental stimulation that they provided for me.

Putting it into Action
While reading, finding and writing down quotes is fun and inspiring, it does nothing if you don’t put them into action.
Reading a good quote won’t make you successful. Just like setting goals won’t get you to the end game if you don’t take action steps to get there.
So, I think it’s very important to analyze quotes in a way that helps you put them into action in your own life.
What nugget of information in those one or two sentences can you ACT on today that will get you through the work week?
Will you reevaluate your to-do list to prioritize your most important projects? Do you see an area where you could use some personal development? Is there something you can do differently today that you didn’t think about yesterday?
These are some of the questions you should ask yourself when you write down a quote that resonates with you. What about that quote gave your heart a little flutter?
Once you can analyze the quote for how it applies to your life in the current moment, you can take the necessary steps to put that inspiration and motivation into actionable steps that can take you to the next level.
Final Thoughts
I am all about motivational quotes. These quotes get me through the work week and help me take action steps toward my goals.
The important thing about writing down quotes is to apply them to your life, here and now. The reason these quotes have become quotes is because the people who said them didn’t just SAY them. They lived them, they acted on them, they made a name for themselves through their accomplishments.
These people are now famous, in each their own right, because they acted upon their goals and proved to the world that success was possible. They didn’t just say they were going to write a book or become a public figure some day, they made a plan, followed the plan and didn’t stop until they saw success.
This is what should inspire you. Not just the words on the page, but the people that proved that hard work, dedication, and action can get you to your end goals.
